The Tomorrow We All Talked About

I feel like changing my blog site...let me think of a name first then i'll post up the link. I have no idea how active it will be now that college has started for me. Orientation today was brainwashing after all the briefing/subject speeches/campus tour and privileges given to us.

I love my student ID which took only like 5 minutes to get done ( begitu efficient ). At least I don't look too bad in it :) It gets me discounts at all the wonderful food outlets at Pusat D'sara. coolness. Plus like since when does HELP have an entertainment lounge? I hope I even have the time and ka-chings to waste on it sometimes. foospoolfoospoolfoospool...broke?!?!

Since HELP is so central and near B'sar, D'sara and H'mas..I decided to go to MV after that. The going out never really ends..

nice to have a person behind the wheel that has a good sense of direction :)
.
.

later on,

chill at pam's who had some baking thing going on. sadly only one batch of the cookies turned out fine. better luck in making the blueberry cheesecake next time yea pammy?
.

well this is another episode of laid back kimblee day. i only had 2 hrs of sleep last night so peace out from the happy dandy college freshie!

much love

A Night Not To Be Wasted

So how many had a great New Year's Eve?? I for one did.

I have minimal pictures to show it but here goes..

[ phone pics only..all the rest in ely's cam :( sadly. ]

So of course I went to The Curve just as some of you may already know

Elyza booked a room at Royale Bintang Hotel so it was our chill out place before the crowd came in. Plus it was kinda humid outside after the rain which ruined swimming plans..hmmph. Went shopping instead :) heee...

Of course being experienced eve-at-Curve-goers, we made early reservations at Kenny Roger's so we won't have to end up eating at Manhattan Fish Market like we have for the past two years in a row! err...

near Laundry Bar...packed!

So being at a crowded place of course we bumped into many people...more like groups of people actually. It was nice to know that everyone was at the same place celebrating but just spreaded everywhere. Every few minutes..walk walk.." OH HI!!!! hughughug..have a great New Year! see you around!". Or something similar to that.

oooo

As we waited for midnight to strike..we got spayed all over like ohmygoodness I-look-like-freakin-icing-on-a-cake by random guys. So what did we do? Got ourselves loaded!! All out war!!! shakeshake spraaaay!! smiles.

Oh and not to forget I also loaded myself with Milo chunks, Rocky, Pringles and a Big Apple donut..why? Because my new year's resolution is to not have junk food for the entire of 2009. Junk food does not include cupcake, pizza, quality ice cream or fast food like McD. Mostly stuff like sweets, any form of chips, marshmallow, donuts, chocolates, cheap ice cream, candy bars and yeah those typical stuff you bring in the bus when you go for camps if you get what I mean. So what's your new year's resolution?

Well to cut the long story to midnight...we headed to the stage area between IKANO and The Curve just so we could see the fireworks and get hyped by the crowd.

The best part was when everyone counted down together and the whole place kinda bergema..I found it cool :P

5....4...3..2..1..HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

( sprays like mad while looking down to avoid foaming own self )

Honestly it was hard to breathe. The smell of the spray was overwhelming and the foam flying in the air was like a snow scene. Very awesome indeed.

my bro at Utama told me that Curve's fireworks lasted longer.hmm.

Anyway, only after midnight another two jokers came to join in the fun.

Shaf and Cheng.

making the sushi diners feel awkward inside

Just hung around for almost 2 hours...even passed by two guys dancing with their shirts off at Laundry while standing on something that could possibly a table or whatever. I dunno how far they went after that cos I left the scene. Probably not that far since there were kids sitting at restaurant tables nearby. I still wonder why parents bring such young kids to places like these. Terrible.

Even some random guy on a dare came and wished us happy new year and gave us hugs. He was cool. Thank goodness for that.

.

.

Headed to McD at Bangsar Telawi for supper around 2am or so with Shaf and WC plus we didn't get stuck in any form of jam since Shaf parked on Penchala Link itself. very smart. At least the Penchala road is wide.

Then we got a call from Paul who was at Tania's house and the night got more interesting. Being sober and logical, some of us had to take care of the not-so-wise-at-the-moment friends. And so the story goes on...

Checked into my crib at 4.15am and it was a smooth ride home. Hardly any cars left...

Thanks for the company guys. I had more fun this year than the last. And thanks Shaf for the ride home.. :)

Happy 2009 my fellow readers and friends !!

Happy Birthday!

Christmas Eve @ Delz

the ones who stayed past 12am.

food, drinks, games, laughter :)

slept over and spent the entire time making cards

Christmas morning @ Actor's Studio, BSC

Church had Christmas service there as usual and it was nice as always with ballet performance and a little sketch about the true meaning of Christmas ( it's Jesus' birthday! )

p/s : thanks to the YFers for the wishes, gifts and cards.

I spent my day lunching with WC and Arthur at Monte's when they popped outta no where then I gift shopped for my family the moment CJ sleepily came by.

I am really glad to have spent Christmas with my family this year as a friend told me " Spend it with them for one day or one point in your life you might not be able to do so ". sigh..the sad truth of growing up.

So it turned out to be a much more meaningful Christmas in many different ways plus we actually got each other presents which added an extra pleasantness in the Christmas air.

Secret Recipe chocolate indulgence cake from my Muslim neighbour..weird much?

I'm still sad to say though that Christmas is the one day the world celebrates but only a handful of them know what it really is.

Santa is a man that humors. Gifts are symbolic. Trees are decorations. Colours are representatives. The day is just an excuse to party. But the truth is the one thing that remains even when nothing else does.

Slowly Closing In

Finally went out with Sukhpreet today. So rare. Too bad it was
just me and Sharon. Anyhoo, we watched Yes Man
despite the bad ratings Peng Tsu gave since the other shows
didn't sound appetizing enough. It was average for me but Sukhpreet thought it
was pretty good so wokay!

We had our fair share of mini Christmas shopping before we met
up with .. oh who's that? Tessa? Supeeeer long time no see.

I'm
glad I got dragged into this by S'ron because not only could I meet up with Tess
but I found out about all the new food outlets
near Cold Storage. Should really check 'em all out one day :) Plus Tessa's phone
got me stirring up a storm in my head..it's really cheap compared to the Razr2
V9 that I wanted and soon realised that I could never get. I have to let that
one go since the price never seems to lower even after ages. My phone is so
screwed up that I don't mind settling on this LG KS 360. It reminds me of a T-Mobile so thumbs up there!

white and soft pink ( i personally do not like pink. if only it was all white )

bright blue (not bad, very unisex colour )

titanium ( classy and can never go wrong )

red..nahh

I think I can summon up some faith in LG phones. This particualr one was
launched this year and I already had Motorola and Samsung "experiences", so how
bad can this one be eh?

One last thing, is it me or is everyone talking about college? Cos it sure seems so. It's so hard to not talk about
it actually. It's kinda getting to me now. Overwhelming. Not to
mention the kiasuness of scholars. Ugh. I shall make a point to befriend the
students taking other courses. For sanity sake.

Matter of Fact

SASA Dining Etiquette @ HELP Residence

just a quarter of them all

muah. spreet. jen.

thanks for the pics Spreet!

Having a first college event in December is pretty exciting I must say. I was glad to have Spreet and Jenny by my side in a pool of strangers. I guess I can say I had my first college learning experience today. :)
What did I learn? Well, let me teach you some good manners and self-grooming tips.

1. Always walk like you want to impress someone important to you.
2. Girls - Before putting make-up on, figure out if it is for day or night
3. When drinking soup, scoop outwards with spoon before drawing back to mouth.

4. Place soup spoon in bowl or on plate beside bowl once finished.

5. Use utensils that are furthest away from plate and slowly move inwards as the courses are served.

6. Place folded napkin on the lap with the folded end facing toward the body.

7. Loosely fold the napkin when leaving the table and place it on the right hand side of your dining area. Left side indicates that you are done with all the courses. DO NOT place napkin on the chair.

8. Only start eating when the host starts, when you are given the signal to start first or when everyone's meal is served.

9. American's have their main course by cutting up everything then placing the knife back down and eating only with a fork in one hand.

10. European's eat with both hands resting on the table at the wrists where both hands are holding a piece of utensil.

11. Place your hand above the mouth of your glass as a signal of not wanting a refill.

12. Always pass food from left to right.
13. When a person asks to pass the salt, pass the pepper as well.
14. To solve the problem or whose bread and glass is whose, bread is always on the left and glasses are always on the right. So do not eat someone elses bread.
15. Lastly, do not split bread into half, spread butter and bite. Instead, peel a bite size piece, spread butter, eat and repeat.

Happy Dining this Christmas!!
